During the meeting with the representatives, the main issues were discussed and special attention was paid to the main topics, such as:
- Creation of a new investment decision-making mechanism;
- Improvement of survey, design and construction procedures;
- Improvement of the asset management system aimed at improving the sustainability and efficiency of water resources and irrigation infrastructure;
- Introduction of a new approach to the allocation of water resources and more efficient irrigation methods;
- Capacity building for conducting applied and interdisciplinary research on a range of topics identified in the National Water Resources Concept;
- Review of strategies and measures for their implementation in the field of land reclamation, as well as assistance in the implementation of pilot tests,

During the negotiations, the parties put forward their proposals for the development and strengthening of cooperation in these areas. Lists of discussed topics were also sent to representatives of other organizations, which will make it possible to maintain a regular fruitful dialogue on the most important issues of the project.
– “Our joint actions aimed at the successful implementation of the national water strategy and the implementation of major reforms in the water management and irrigation sector through a number of institutional and procedural measures and capacity-building initiatives are certainly a priority and the main task that requires detailed discussion.”
In addition to this formal meeting, to discuss the progress of the project and receive recommendations for further actions, ALTERRA will organize meetings and maintain constant contact with the main national stakeholders to ensure that our support is in line with expectations and useful for the development of the sector as a whole.
